NEW DELHI: Panthic Committee (Zarfarwal) group has criticized the militants responsible for the kidnapping of Romanian diplomat, Liviu Radu, and killing of prominent leaders in Punjab, reports PTI.
A faxed statement, received from London on the letter head of Panthic Committee, described the abduction of the Romanian charge De Affaires as a “slur” on militants and a “plot” to alienate them form the support they were enjoying abroad.
The statement however, did not identify the group responsible for killings in the trouble tom border state, and said such killings, including those of doctors, train passengers, women and children, would harm their cause, The Romanian diplomat was allegedly abducted by Punjab militants from the capital on October 9 last while he was going to office. The militants later demanded the release of three of their jailed colleagues, facing gallows in the gen A.S. Vaidya assassination case, in exchange of Radu.
These elements first decided to contest elections in Punjab and then started killing innocent people to force the government to postpone the polls as they realized that elections would not suit them the statement said.
Those elements, who also tried to oppose the kar seva “voluntary service” at Akal Takht (the highest seat of Sikh religion), would not be tolerated, it added.
