CHANDIGARHG Has the abducted Romanian diplomat Liviu Radu been brought to Punjab by Sikh militants?
Indian intelligence agencies appear to be convinced that the militants have succeed in bringing the diplomat to the state despite massive security arrangements the Indain security forces made in and around Delhi immediately after his abduction.
The suspicion has led the Security forces to mount powerful search of the diploma in several parts of Punjab notably in Sangrur and Ludhlana district which are considered to be strong holds of Khalistan Liberation Force headed by bhai Gurjant Singh Budhsinghwara. The agonies raided several houses belonging to the relations of top K.L.F. Actives during the past week but in vain .Numerous contingents of the army too have been deployed in Jagraon and Samrala sub division of Ludhiana district I this connection.
It is also believed that the militants are holding negations with the Romanian govt authorities through the British chapter of Punjab Human Rights Organization. The major demands of the miltans are said to be to seek release of the Sikh youths arrested in Romania in connection with an attack on J.F.Ribiero, India’s ambassador in Bucharest and the latter’s expulsion from that country on ground of his being a war criminal. As for the release of Bhai Sukhdev Singh, Bhai Harjinder Singh and Bhai Nirmal Singh, the militants are said to be of the view that they would deal with this issue separately as the dispute was with India and not Romania.
