LUCKNOW: In yet another bizarre incident, a Sadhu suspected of being child lifter was stoned 10, death and burnt alive in village Terharikala of Moholi: police station area of Sitapur district, on Saturday.
According to an official report received here on Sunday, the Sadhu, Bhoomi Das, belonging to Bihar, had gone to the village with his five year old. granddaughter Guppi, to meet his dis ciple Sripal, who was not at home, Sripals wife denied knowing the Sadhu, who was taken to her house by an irate mob, And this gave the signal to start stoning the sadhu, When he died, they set him on fire, The child was, however, unhurt and was taken to the Moholi police, where a case against the villagers had been registered.
Two persons, a sadhu and a student were lynched and burnt in Lucknow, on the suspicion of being child lifters, on September 24.
