AHMEDABAD: A 45-yrold Harijan was set afire by some members of upper caste Patel community in Rusdan village of Vijapur taluka in the Mehsana district recently.
He was admitted to the civil hospital where his condition was reported to be improving.
The victim Ramabhai Ishvarbhai Parmar a member of the village panchayat was accosted by some Patels on the outskirts of the village and set afire after pouring kerosene over him
As he cried for help his brother-in-law Mohanbhai Kalabhai and others came to his rescue.
