WASHINGTON: A CIA-funded study calls for unified action by the west to prevent Japan’s economic domination of the world and a potential Soviet-Japanese alliance and damns the Japanese as not democratic racist and lacking global responsibility.

The co-signers of the report include Robert C. Macfarlane president Reagan’s national security adviser during the Iran contra scandal and former deputy defence secretary M. Richard Rose currently president of the Rochester institute of technology.

A CIA spokesman said that the document will probably be circulated within the intelligence community but noted that it is not a CIA document.
