YUBACITY: Prominent Sikhs of the area gathered at the office of S Jaswant Singh Bains to honor World Sikh News. About $10,000 was raised on the occasion.
S Didar Singh Bains, founder president of WSO, said there was a need to involve more Sikhs with the newspaper.
Dr Gurinder Singh Grewal, president of WSN, thanked the gathering for their support since the paper’s inception in 1984. He said the cause for which the paper was started was yet unaccomplished hence the need to strengthen WSN.
S Narinder S Somal, Secretary WSN spoke of broad basing the paper for which the help of Yuba areas Sikhs was vital.
It was largely due to the efforts of S Gurnam S Pamma, S Dilbag and S Jaswant S Bains that the function was organized.
WSN Pakistan representative Janab Tariq Ismail Sagar said the paper had a important function in the current freedom movement and the stronger it was the more powerful would be the voice of the Sikhs. All the prominent Sikhs of the area graced the occasion and were generous with their help.
