STOCKTON: There’s growing concern and anguish ‘over the detention of two young Sikhs in the US for four years at the behest of the Indian govt.
S Ranjit Singh Gill and S Sukhyvinder Singh Sandhu were arrested by the FBI from a gas station in New Jersey on May 14, 1987. The arrest followed a diplomatic note from Indian altering the involvement, of the two in Gen Vaidya and Lalit Make murder case.
These charges have been proved baseless yen in Indian course several times over, In the Vaidya case two other Sikh youth Bhai g Harjinder Singh and Bhai Sukhdev Singh have been held guilty and awarded the death sentence.
The Indian govt had lost the case late last year but refilled the extradition case Thus proving that all Sikhs are enemies of the state and that no Sikh can be guaranteed security of life in India.

According to sources in India the two were victims of a well-planned Govt strategy defame Sikhs especially i in the west. This may be borne out by a curious twist in the court proceedings here. The trial was vitiated when the Indian govt attorney Judy Russel marled threatening letters to herself and the judge alleging they were from. Sikhs;
These two prisoners of conscience are a high profile example of India’s brutal handling of Sikhs. But for the valiant efforts of the Sikhs here the two would have been: extradited to India and killed without trial is in a fake encounter.
Amnest international too has filed a ‘brief an them behalf but no avail so far, Bevel face extradition to India.
Gureharan S. Dhillon president WSO USA has in a statement urged all Sikhs to Support the two Youngman and in doing so further the cause of Khalistan. In holding these Sikh freedom fighters the US govt was going against its own principal in supporting a repressive regime. He said the US believed a fabricated story proven so time and again by Indian courts.
We appreciate the role of Mary Pike William Kunstler and Ronald Kuby who have defended Rajit Singh and Sukhminder Singh he added.
“Ronald Kuby, ‘who i is defending the respondents in a message to World Sikh News said, “Their courage and perseverance during four years of illegal and unjust imprisonment serves to vindicate the highest and noblest tenants of the Sikh people; courage in the face of injustice and perseverance in the face of oppression.”
Bhai Sukhminder Singh and Bhai Ranju Singh expressed concern over Punjab situation. Commenting on elections in Punjab they said that they are in favor of fighting elections provided they are fought unitedly and on the issue of Khalistan.
But unfortunately when there is a great need for unity, ego and greed divide the Sikh Nation into many groups. In these circumstances it was best to boycott elections they said.
They further added that much is being done against Sikh ethics there is no doubt that many persons are being exposed but after they had damaged Sikh interests.
They appealed to Sikhs in general to be alert and keep a watch on such activities and help those who are selflessly working for the Sikh cause.
