CHANDIGARH: The Akali Dal chief Mr Simranjit Singh Mann said here that the police had arrested two youth Mr Nishan Singh Makhu and Mr Anokh Singh Uboke from Amritsar without any charge.
He urged the Governor to intervene so that the arrested boys are produced in a court at the earliest as he apprehended that they would be “liquidated in a fake encounter”.
Condemning the police action he said the police were resorting to “brutalities and fake encounters” to eliminate innocent Sikh youth.
Mr Mann alleged that the police after imposing curfew at Kapur colony in Amritsar took in its custody 13 boys of which three had been allegedly done to death in “fake encounters”. The fate of remaining boys was not known.
