NEW DELHI: Mr Chandra Shekhar expressing great relief over the end of the Persian Gulf war said the Indian Embassy in Kuwait will reopen in the next two or three days.

The prime minister told newsmen soon after receiving the German President Mr Richard Von Weizsaecker that the emphasis would now shift to reconstruction of Kuwait.

The prime minister described as very unfortunate the kidnapping of Ms Nahid daughter of the national conference MP Mr Saifuddin Soz.

Earlier the German President expressed happiness at the ceasefire in the Gulf and said now it was the task of the United Nations to ensure peace.
