GANDHINAGAR: The Gujarat government has declared 729 villages of Jamnagar Junagadh and Kutch districts as scarcity affected following insufficient rainfall in the area this year revenue minister Dalsukhbhai Godhani told the state Assembly Friday.
Replying to a call attention motion by Bhikhabhai Babhaniya (Janata Dal) Godhani said three sub-districts of Jamnagar four of Junagadh and three of Kutch districts were hit by scarcity this year and added that drinking water was being provided by tankers. Arrangements had also been made for fodder and relief works.
He also assured the house that relief works would be opened wherever laborers were available.
