JAMMU (PTI): A red alert has been sounded in Jammu, capital of the north Indian border state due to the reported threat by militants to violently disrupt the Dewali festival which is on Nov.13, Senior police officials said police were deployed in strength in vulnerable areas Jammu city and paramilitary forces were engaged on patrolling duty during nights, Several police pickets have also been set up in different parts of Jammu, particularly on all roads leading to Jammu city from outside. Officials said that vehicles were being thoroughly being checked.
