The recent holding of “Global Vision 2000” conference in Washington by the local unit of VHP is Virtually tantamount to a cruel joke on secularism and distortion of the philosophy of legendary Swami Vivekakanda. President Clinton, Dalai Lam and other moderate Indian leaders wisely declined to grace the occasion while the BJP and her Hindu Fundamentalist allies, RSS & VHP were out in full force as keynote speakers. The talk of ‘Hindu vote bank’ clearly shows their bias against the minority communities ine India and a deliberate exploitation of the Religions sentiments of the majority Hindu community Calling the destruction of Babri Masjid against the explicit directive of supreme court of India, an act of God or question of civilization is an appalling ,repugnant and nonseating preposition, under the shield of secularism. They are playing a smart game to cover up their nefarious designs for the creation of a theocratic Hindu state of India like other radical groups. Hindu militants are equally responsible for innocent communal blood shedding around the country. The only difference being that Rao’s government is afraid of antagonizing or upsetting the Hindu voters and hence lakhs the backbone to take the bull by the hom while Sikh and Muslim militants are eliminated left and right under the legitimized Euphemism of fake “police encounters.” According to famous journalist and historian, Khuswant Singh, “under BJP and her allies India may keep the decade secularism for the time being with the real spirit of Hindu militancy underneath.” The strategy of these extremist right wing forces could be summed by the peculiar Hindi expression.
