SRINAGAR (PTI): The security forces have been asked to remain in attention in view of the visit of a 20-member all party parliamentary delegation and threatened escalation of violence by the militants in the Kashmir valley in the strategic northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
None would be allowed to take Jaw into its hands a police official told PTI when his attention was drawn to the statements of the banned militant organizations directing their members to intensify subversive activities during the delegations stay in the valley.
The outlawed JKLF (Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front) has given a call for strike in the valley to observe what it has called a Black Day and has asked human rights organizations not to testify before the delegation.
All front-ranking militant organizations including Pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen Hizbullah Jamitul Mujahideen Al-Umer Mujahideen and pro-independence JKLF Ikhwa-UI Muslimeen and other outfits have given separate protest calls against the three day visit of the delegation.
Meanwhile the human rights activist and leader of peace and solidarity council H.N.Wanchoo has appealed the militants to maintain calm during the period.
The all-party delegation would make an on-the-spot assessment of the situation in Kashmir and report to the federal home (interior) minister.
