ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has appealed to Indian’s new Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda to begin peace talks to Stabilize the subcontinent.

“For the sake of our people and as civilized nations, let us sit across the table for a search for lasting peace,” she said in a leuer to her Indian counterpart that was carried by the official APP news agency recently. “As responsible leaders of South Asia, let us seize this opportunity by opening a new chapter in our relations by laying down the foundations of a peaceful South Asia based on equitable conflict resolution and reconciliation,” Bhutto said.
