Our faith has survived five centuries with honor built on the blood of our martyrs. Like Guru Arjan Dev and Guru Teg Bahadur, others have appeared from time to time [0 volunteer for the supreme sacrifice as a public protest against injustice and tyranny.
The two Zinda Shaheeds, Bhai Harjinder Singh Jinda and Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sukha, who had refused to sign a mercy petition for a stay of execution, will be forever remembered for their courage, piety and bravery as true Sant Sipahis of our religion. They volunteered to die rather than humble themselves before a court they considered illegal and unfair, constituted under a Constitution the Sikh nation does not recognize. The names of the two Shaheeds, Bhai Jinda and Bhai Sukha Mehtab Singh and Sukha Singh of the 20th century will be written in gold in our history books. They will be remembered every day in our prayers and each one of us is fortified by their courage, piety and example.
Now that these two gems of the Panthic Mala have been accepted by Wahe Guru history. Our children’s children will remember that they volunteered in 1992 to become two pillars on which Khalistan would build on the foundation stone laid by Sant Bhindranwale in 1984. Their supreme sacrifice, so bravely made, will remind the world that for the Sikh nation nothing is more sacred than the sanctity of its holy shrines for which each and every Sikh man, women and child would willingly lay down his or her life.
