NEW DELHI: India has been funding from the central government’s plans the canal network being set up in Rajasthan which will be fed by Punjab rivers water. The Indian central government is also financing the S.Y.L. canal project which again will be fed by Punjab Rivers. These are the only two canal networks in the entire country which are directly being financed by the Indian government. The usual Indian policy is that irrigation projects are directly funded by the state governments The Rajasthan canal has been named after Indira Gandhi the butcher of Sikhs.
