CHANDIGARH: Top militant Bhai Jagtar Singh alias Kukar, Lt General of Khalistan Liberation Force, was among 25 militants killed in Punjab on Aug.24.
Security forces claim to have arrested 14 militants and recovered some arms and ammunition from them.
According to the Punjab police In a so-called encounter, security forces gunned down militant Bhai Jagtar Singh, member of KLF and his accomplice Bhai Gurdeep Singh alias Tarri near Dangian village in Jagraon police district (Ludhiana). An AK-47 rifle, two magazines, a nine mm pistol and a large quantity of ammunition were recovered from the militants killed.
Bhai Jagtar Singh carries are ward of Rs 10 lakh, Jagtar Singh operated in Jagraon, Ludhiana, Faridkot, Sangrur and Bathinda districts,
In another encounter, security forces shot dead BTF militant Bhai Raj Singh alias Rajiv and his unidentified accomplice near B oparai village in Majitha police district on Friday night.

Two unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with police near Hundal village in Gurdaspur district. Three hand grenades, two detonators and some ammunition were recovered from the spot.
