NEW DELHI (PTI): Attacks on Hindus and Sikhs (Religious minority) in Afghanistan had virtually stopped and about 5000 Afghan nationals of Indian origin were in the process of returning to Kabul. Most of these Afghan nationals had fled to Pakistan after the Afghan Mujahideen made them the target of their violence after Najibullah was ousted in May. The minister of state for external affairs R.L. Bhatia told members of the consultative committee attached to his ministry that these attacks stopped after the Indian ambassador in Kabul took up the matter with the Afghan Jehad council leaders Sibgatullah Mujadidi and Buhranuddin Rabbani.
