NEW DELHI (PTI) Pakistan has suffered a temporary setback following the U.S.s decision to send home some Pakistani plots who were getting training in the US. To fly the P-3 Orion maritime surveillance and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft defence analysts here say.

Pakistan which was to have received three of these mini-awacs under the U.S.-Pak defence agreement has to wait funher as the U.S put these aircraft into force base in at Davis Month an air force base in Arizona Janes Defence weekly said. Analysis says the P-3C Orion is the workhorse of the maritime   world and over600of these aircraft have been delivered in to various forms. The director of the institute for defence studies and analysis air commodore Jagjit Singh told PTI that P-3C which carries harpoon anti-ship missiles side winder air-to-air missiles and sophisticated sensors for antisubmarine warfare could pose a threat to the Indian navy with its long range attack capability.
