JALANDHAR: The Shrimoni Akali Dal (Mann) respected the verdict of the Jalandhar electorate but will continue its fight for an independent state of Khalistan.

 Ina press release, the president of the Party Sardar Simranjit Singh Mann said,” The Shiromani Akali Dal is committed for the protection of human rights, 60,000 Sikhs are in jails all over the country, 15 to 20 Sikhs are eliminated in fake encounters every day, Sikh women are molested and raped by Indian Security personnel, The Punjab has become an occupied territory with 3,60,000 army personnel, 2,00,000 Para military forces, 66,000 Punjab Police, 50,000 special police officers, and 40,000 home guards stationed here to rob us of our life, liberty and property.” The Akali Dal (M) which stands for an independent nation for the Sikhs and will continue the struggle against the colonization of Punjab and went for the Sikh masses to raise their voice against their exploitation by the Central Govt. The condemnable malpractice in the Jalandhar election, the large scale rigging and the use of double standards by the election commission all proved how unjust the Indian government was in its treatment of the Sikhs. Simranjit Singh Mann said, The Shiromani Akali Dal condemns the unfair election practices of the State Govt. and the C.E.C. There has been large scale, It is for these reasons that we have been asking for international agencies like U.N. and Carter center to monitor the polls in Punjab.”

Reiterating the demand of his party for demilitarization of Punjab, he said, “The Shiromani Akali Dal stood against the militarization of the Punjab and carried out a relentless war, at the risk of our lives to oppose the center and the policies of the Congress. In this struggle countless workers of the Shiromani Akali Dal laid down their lives and the life of the President of Akali Dal was also placed at great risk.

The election results to the Jalandhar constituency show that the Sikh masses have rejected our party program to Oppose state repression and the colonization of Punjab. In the true democratic working of the party we respect the mandate of the Sikh masses. The Shiromani Akali Dal believes that the Punjab problem cannot be solved by brute force and the only solution is the creation of an independents and sovereign Sikh State, a buffer between India and Pakistan. We stand by our policies an¢ ideology. Respecting the mandate. Of the people we will remain silent till the Sikh masses ask us (0 raise our voice.
