LONDON(PTI): A section of the British media has sought to inject another clement of controversy in the ongoing madras test this time questioning the leg before wicket (LBW) decisions of the Indian umpires.
“This rush of rash decisions undid the notably diligent effort by England. An effort that nourished hopes of an escape from the Madras ‘trap,’” “The Sunday Times’ commented Feb.14, The attack is particularly directed against umpire. Professor R.S.Rathore.
“Rathore may be a master of Hindi language, but he is not much an umpire because four times on a day of attrition, Rathore raised his finger in dismissal,” and each time the specter of England defeat grew clearer, the paper said, adding that Rathore’s appointment was as disappointing as his mistakes were glaring.
