CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Subordinate Services Federation (Badal) led by Amar Singh Amar Feb.13 announced that it had severed its links with the Akali leader, Parkash Singh Badal, and appointed the Punjab Chief Minister, Beant Singh, as its patron.
Ata function held at the residence of the Chief Minister, Amar said that Beant Singh had turned out to be a messiah of the poor, the downtrodden and the backwards of the state who had brought about the much needed peace of Punjab. In this difficult task, government employees were extending him full cooperation.
Amar said the BSSF which represented nearly 1 lakh class Ml and class IV employees of the state government, was impressed by the performance of the Congress government during its one year rule. The Akalis, on the other hand, had repeatedly failed to deliver the goods. They Jacked political culture, acumen and leaders of stature, Parkash Singh Badal, in particular, had been a great disappointment, He promised full cooperation to the government from the federation.
