OTTAWA: In its Sunday Dewan On June 141992 the Ouawa Sikh Society honored Sardar Sukhminder Singh Hansra and was bestowed with Siropa for his relentless efforts supporting Sikh causes AS a producer of two Radio Programs “Gagan Damama Bajio” and “Ankheela Punjab” in Toronto the largest metropolitan city of Canada Sardar Hansra brought excellent talk shows interviews Gurbani Keertan Punjabi Culture and Games to _ thousands of Punjabis in this area and touched the hearts of the public through these programs. He is an excellent Punjabi singer with a melodious voice. His efforts to raise large funds for meritorious projects speak to his dedication to the Sikh cause. He raised $120000 for Gurdwara Sahib of Ontario Khalsa Darbar. A sum of $45000 was raised for Scarborough Guru Char and now $60000 was raised for the completion of Gurdwara Sahib in Ottawa the nation’s capital Sardar Hansra in a special appeal to the listeners of his Radio programs from CHWO 1250 raised several thousands of dollars for the building of a Gurdwara Sahib in Khalistan in dear memory of Shaheed-e-aryam Sardar Satwant Singh. The building of this Gurdwara Sahib was halted by the Hindu Government of India but as normal the Sikhs don’t care for such mean obstacles and this Gurdwara Sahib is now near completion Sardar Hansraisakeen supporter of the World Sikh organization and plays a key role in portraying the view point of The Khalsa Panth. This is the only program of its kind that is liked by ever Punjabi on North American soil and closes each program with the slogan “Khalistan-Zindabad” . The enemies of the Khalsa Panth and the agents of the Hindu government of India tried several times in the past to shutoff this voice of the truth but with Wahe Gurus grace they failed.

Thus Sardar Hansra was responsible for safeguarding the most basic freedom The freedom of speech. It’s only in India that such basic human rights are brutally suppressed by the government of India. Bravo Sardar Hansra the crusade for the freedom of all the oppressed people of the world will continue

The Ottawa Sikh Society also honored Sardar Gurpreet Singh Bal the vice president of W.S.O. for the Ontario region and Sardar Sukhjinder Singh Shergill the past treasurer of W.S.O. of Canada and now a member of the executive committee of Ontario Khalsa Darbar in Toronto. They helped Sardar Hansra in this Radiothon to raise funds for Sikh causes.
