GANDHINAGAR: The “Bharatiya Janata Pany (BJP) asserted that the graves threat to the “Security of India came from the “emergence of Pakistan as a county. It urged the Government to “carefully watch the developing situation in Afghanistan in the interest of the people of Afghanistan and India.” The resolution on the international situation and India, which was adopted by the party criticizes the Government for conveying the impression that it was ready to sign away the nuclear option and Called upon it not only not to give Up the nuclear option under any circumstances bat to exercise the Option immediately.”

Further, there must be no delay in the testing and deployment of “the “Agni missile, the resolution “Stated, The resolution, which was presented by senior leader Jaswant Singh, cautioned the country Against the insistence of the United States and other nations that India and Pakistan freeze their nuclear programs. While such a freeze would allow Pakistan to be a Nuclear weapon State since it already has nuclear weapons India would be a non-nuclear State.

According to the BJP, “Pakistan will come to terms emotionally with India only when it clearly perceives that continued hostility, towards India will bring about its own destruction.”

The resolution expressed concern at the banding together of Countries on the basis of religion and pointed to the fact that the Organization of Islamic Conference takes political decisions on Grounds of religion.

It called upon the nation to take serious note of the large scale and, continuing infiltration of Bangladeshis into India and force the authorities to view the problem from the angle of national security rather than political expediency.

Reiterating its opposition to the transfer of Tin Bigha to Bangladesh, it said that the Government had not taken into account the sentiments and interests of the Indians in that area nor given a thought to their concerns, Double standards prevailed in areas ranging from nuclear nonproliferation to the economic field   that while the developed world resorted to overt or covert protectionism within its boundaries, it attacked the developing countries for doing it and demanded that they toe their line on international property rights,

According to the resolution, there was an urgent need “to reform the United Nations democratizes the world body” and make it a more effective instrument brings about a new international order based on the equality of nations.” At present the world body operated on the basis of the unbalanced power structure, it said.

With the post-Cold War international relations still  settle into a pattern the world lacked a balanced power structure although  Hege monistic attitudes continued to abound, with the countries o the Third World being pressured by a group of powerful counties to follow their philosophy and political and economic models, Welcoming the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Israel and the result of the referendum in South Africa, it called on the Government to expedite the posting of an Indian Ambassador to Tel Aviv and build relations with Israel and “act speedily” in re-establishing diplomatic commercial and cultural South Africa.
