ISLAMABAD (PTI): Pakistan 4s considering putting a check on bodies’ parties and personalities advocating the so-called “third option of independent Kashmir” and even the possibility of banning the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front is not ruled out.
Islamabad felt that the “third option” which is not endorsed in the UN. Resolution of 1949 calling for accession to either India or Pakistan after exercise of right of self-determination of Kashmiri people was part of “plot” aimed at distracting people from exercising one of the two options reports quoting foreign office sources said. All organizations parties groups and personalities speaking of an “independent Kashmir” are being considered by Islamabad as part of this conspiracy” the sources said.
“The government could become tougher with the JKLF led by “Amanullah Khan who was not a Kashmiri in the real sense since he hails from Northern areas “the sources said.
Khan i already under detention of Pakistan authorities in an undisclosed place and tougher measures against JKLF could be taken before March 30 the date set by the Kashmiri militant group to cross the line of control into India. The sources added.
Meanwhile vice chairman of JKLF Raja Mohammad Muzaffar threatened to launch an agitation in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir if Amanullah Khan was not released by tomorrow.
Raja Muzaffar said POK premier Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan was trying to “sabotage” the JKLF plan of March 30 by clamping prohibitory orders preventing gatherings and rallies along the road close to the international border. Even curfew orders could be passed he said.
He appealed to JKLF activists to reach undisclosed points in POK and be ready to begin their March to the border
JKLF vice-chairman said it would be the responsibility of the U.N. to censure that the “unarmed” JKLF marchers were not fired at either by Pakistani or Indian security forces. He said he had sent an appeal to the U.N. to this effect.
