“The army men had orders from their officers to spend good time I’m each bed, They had brought liquor bottles with them. They shut my mouth and continued one after the other, They were four in number.”
Jumma Sheikh (50), peon in the Revenue Department, said tha this, daughter in law Muneera (23), wife of Ghulam Muhiddin and daughter Haffeeza (20) were raped by the army cops. He was also eaten ruthlessly with rifle butts, Mauneera said that she was raped by two men. Makhali, wife of Jumma said her daughter Hafeeza was also raped but she hesitated to sive more details. She admitted that her daughter that her daughter, too, was medically examined.
Lassi (60), widow of Rustam Sheikh, informed the team that she and Saja (30), wife of her husband’s brother Ahmed Sheiks were raped by the army men at gunpoint. “Our front door was broken open, 5 cops entered the house, took away the male members and then raped us both, she said. She disclosed that her thighs were badly contused during the sexual violence by the Indian army beasts”. “Saja was deaf and dumb, the beasts did not spare her. 1 to0 was of their mother’s age. I also pleaded that my only son Ghulam Muhiuddin was in the J&K police, but all in vain” she added.
A male victim, Abdul Ghani Daar, son of Aazmin Daar described his tale of woes in the following words: “I was taken to the Ziarat behind the house of Ali MOHD daaR WHERE THE STRIPED ME NAKED MY BODY WAS TRAMPLED UPON ELECTRIC shocks were given to my sexual organ and chilies inserted in my rectum. I was asked to get surrendered some militant. My reply was that I did not know any of them, I was later taken to Assad Daars house where I was hung topsy-turvy and my head was placed in the bucket of water. I traps immersed in ice cold water. When I came to my house next morning at 11 am I bore another Shock to hear that my mother Sarah, sister Naseema and wife Hafeeza were brutally gang raped by the soldiers. They ll were in a tad shape.”
Khaira (35), wife of Sadia Daar, came forward to record her stalement. She said: “They came farmed with guns, Is thrilled loudly They (Army men) shut my mouth with a hand and tore my clothes which were later handed over to police. After that they did everything. My resistance could repulse f them from ravishing.”
Another pregnant victim, Fabba (27), wife of a carpenter Ghulam Mohammed stated that two army men came at 11 pm on that fateful night. They broke open the door and started abusing. me for not opening the door. They wore guns and were drunken, They fist forcibly molested me and tore all my clothes. They then violated everything in the presence of my three children; I was pregnant and was due to deliver in July. They, then, violated my unmarried sister, Pitho, who was then staying with me
Yet another ill-fated woman was Zeba alias Zabi whose two unmarried daughters Nasima (20) and Mishra (18) were also raped along with her. Zebas husband Jabbar Dar was insane and had left home in belong. She narrated her agony saying “no one will like to marry my daughters.” She said: “Army posse came in and took away my younger sons to the interrogation camp in the village. Then the remaining men outraged the modesty of my two daughters, 1,100, was ravished along with my daughters.”
