JALANDHAR: The Janata Dali’s of the view that the recent election in Punjab does not signal a beginning of democratic process in the state as Congress (I) indulged in large scale rigging and there was a very low turnout of voters.
“The panty in a press release deplored the boycott of election by Akalis who gave 87 Assembly seats and 12 Lok Sabha seats to the Congress (I) on a platter.
The party said that the Punjab crisis could be resolved if India was restructured along, federal lines and power decentralized up to the village level thus providing Internal autonomy to states.
The panty also decided to hold a meeting of party functionaries at Chandigarh on March 1 to assess the Punjab election results. I will be attended by workers from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Chandigarh.
