CHANDIGARH: Is there a new political agenda in the offing for Akal Takht prepared by India? Indicative of this is the trend of discussion sat seminar organized by pro Delhi Sikh intellectuals here last week.
The sponsors of the show were Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia, Principal Bharpur Singh, advocate G.S.Grewal, Jagdey Singh Jassowal among few others, They claimed that the Akal Takht should be made statutorily autonomous and “above politics.” The Takht should have nothing to do with Akali politics and should have “independent identity.”
