CHANDIGARH: For the first time ballot papers for the February 19 election in Punjab would be printed both in Punjabi and Hindi for the seven of the 13 Lok Sabha and 19 of the 117 assembly constituencies.

The ballot papers to be used in these constituencies will carry the names of the candidates both in Punjabi and Hindi for the “convenience of the public.” The ballot papers for other constituencies will carry the names of the candidates only in Punjabi.

The seven Lok Sabha constituencies are Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Patiala and Ferozepur.

The 19 assembly constituencies are Batala, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Amritsar (north), Amritsar (west, Amritsar (central), Amritsar south), Jalandhar Cant, Jalandhar Growth), Jalandhar (central), Jalandhar (south), Hoshiarpur, Mukerian, Ludhiana (north), Ludhiana (west), Ludhiana Patiala town, Fazilka and Abohar.
