Lt, Gen. K.S.Brar in his rocent book, ‘Operation Blue Star The ‘True Story” has stated the Army suffered 83 casualties whereas the so called terrorist and other casualties were 492, Earlier he has himself written that at the time of relaxation of curfew some people came near the temple and saw truckloads of dead bodies being taken away which, Who does he think would believe that truckloads of dead bodies amounted to only 492?
He indicates that the dead bodies were taken to secluded places and burned by pouring petro ton them, This was worse than the massacre at Jallian wala Bagh where at least the dead bodies were handed over to their relatives and the last nits on only unclaimed bodies were conducted ag per their respective religion,
One wonders why after nine years there has been a need to publish such a book. Does the government of Indian again want to open the Sikh’s wounds? Of is this another type of ointment like that of which Indira Gandhi used to talk about?
Brar has stated that minimum force, was used, though he has agreed that three tanks were brought in the Parikrama and used to destroy the Akal Takht.
According to him as stated on page 9697, the first tank was brought only for the purpose of throwing light on the Akal Takht in order to blind the so called terrorists at night and the army may have a better view, but according to him within a few minutes the bulb got fused. Then a second tank was brought in for a similar purpose and met the same fate. Then the third tank was brought in for the similar purpose and after that, as stated on page 101, the three tanks fired on the Akal Takht. In reality the tanks were brought into fire at the Akal Takht; whom does he want to fool by telling the stories about the bulbs?
On the back cover of the book Brar has put a number of the commonly asked questions, but, inside the book, while attempting to answer them he has still left them Open and controversial.
These are but some of the examples in the government sponsored book written by Briar and distributed by its agencies. Hence, Sikhs be cautioned against this new propaganda by the Indian Government on the Sikhs, and do not fall in their trap by buying this book.
