VARANASI: Sacchidan and Tripathi a Rashtriya Chhatra Sangathan candidate was elected president of the Banaras Hindu University students” union the result was announced late Saturday night. Tripathi defeated his nearest rival Devan and Singh by 143 votes.
The elections were peaceful as tight security measures were taken by the authorities. The BHU student’s union elections were held after a gap of six years.
