Chandigarh: Jan 16 Sixteen people including five (PSEB) and six killed in the northern Indian state of Punjab on Wednesday night The bullet ridden body of an un-identified person was found in Shishrewal village of Amritsar district. Twelve militants one whom posed as a Punjab police constable were arrested by security forces in different parts of the state.
Two unidentified militants were killed in separate encounters with security forces in Dodaunder Ihabbaand Babuwalin Tam Taran police district Wednesday.
Irate villagers lynched a militant who had earlier shot at and injured a villager in Kajikot village in Tarn Taran Thursday.
A suspected militant was shot dead by a rival gang in Gaddar village in Majitha police district Wednesday. Security forces killed two militants in Ludhiana and Tam Taran Thursday. Militants gunned down two people in Sangrur and Amritsar.
