Alas! there is a glimmer of light
far off in the horizon.
Itmust be dawn,
lifting the darkness on people’s minds;
‘and making two truly great nations
realize the futility of arms.
This light has made us all see,
that we don’t have to bomb the demons away.
One cannot help but wonder,
now how long will it be?
before all the other shadows on our minds
are lifted away for good;
And the illusions of prejudice and hate
clear up for our love of life.
In that light we could stand tall and proclaim
OH! LORD! We are ignorant no more.
