CHANDIGARH: Has the police bumped off Balwant Singh an engineer of Chandigarh? Involved in the car bomb attack on Chandigarh S.S.P Sumedh Saini three months ago?
The police stated that Balwant Singh had been taker to custody by the Punjab police. He was taken out of police station when he complained of stomach ache. But said the police, he “escaped” from custody . In other words Balwant Singh had been killed and his body, too, had been disposed of somewhere.
Balwant Singh was the son of a senior Sikh L.A.S. officer of Punjab Multani. His death in a fake police encounter was predicted by a few Sikh groups at the time of his arrest itself.
