ALMATY(PTI): Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbacv last week said there is absolutely no reason to suspect India of having nuclear weapons and as any great nation it has the right to conduct atomic research.
“Any great nation has the right to conduct such research and India has the night to do the same,” the president said at a joint press conference here. “Given India’s long and high Standing in the international community there is no reason to suspect it (of having bombs in the basement),” Nazarbaey said, commenting on reports that many developing countries have nuclear weapons. Asked whether India should sign the nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT), he said that this was: a question that the Indian prime minister should answer. P.V Narasimha Rao evaded 2 re ply saying that the Indian reporter who asked the question already know his stand.
