Expectation
I asked an ancient pine;
“Why stands thou thus from ages past with thy feet fi in the Himalayan rocks?
“Is it pride that makes thee hold thy head a lot defying glances of the lightening?
“Or art thou a stern ascetic, whose penance never ends, The pine replied:
“I saw Him once, and laid my head at his feet.” With his own hands he lifted me up.
Proud in the joy of his touch, I now hold high my head wear the cloud turban and wistfully gaze towards the skies,
Awaiting His return.”
