SRINAGAR: The Indian and Pak forces were involved in a three hour exchange of fire the Uri sector of Kashmir. The firing started when the Indian sappers supported by troops infiltrated into the Azad Kashmir territory across the Line of Control, in order to lay land mines. A Pakistan patrol observing this challenged the Indians who replied with a heavy volley of fire supported by fire from key glory pickets the region. The exchange continued for three to four hours, There were some casualties in the Indian mine laying group, however the exact number is not known. Meanwhile, several Kashmiris were killed by the Indian troops when they tried to escape into the Azad Kashmir in the Uri sector. Our correspondent says that these people were fleeing from India held Kashmir in order to escape the oppression by Indian forces.
