NEW DELHI: The reported demolition of an entire village of 5,000 people on the Delhi Haryana border to provide a route to the All India Congress Committee session at Surajkund later this month disrupted proceedings of the Rajya Sabha for one hour,
The agitated Opposition members including Subramaniam Swammy (JP), an ally of the government, demanded a statement from the Home Minister.
Singh said the government had not provided any information to the members about the demolition and rehabilitation of the people.
Digvijay Singh said three children had died because of exposure as the displaced people were living without any shelter.
