NEW DELHI (PTI): India and Britain on March 5 discussed the threat posed by religious extreme ism and New Delhi’s “perception of the issue of Human Rights, especially in the context of state sponsorship of terrorist activities by countries such as Pakistan.”

Visiting British undersecretary of state Mark Elliou held a series of meetings with Indian foreign secretary J.N.Dixil, secretary (west) K_Sreenivasan, and secretary (east) Salman Haider.

 

The discussions also covered the situation in west Asia, with special reference to the Middle East process, threats to stability in hovered the situation in west Asia, with special reference to the Middle East peace process, threats to stability in the Gulf and developments in South Africa, an external affairs ministry spokesman said.

Elliou’s visit to India is part of the ongoing process of consultations between the two countries.
