Before I start for The Hague the sewadar offers me a hot cup of tea. “I may have to stay here for another day,” I tell him hesitatingly. “You can stay here for as many days as you like,” he replies. The next day he again prepares for me a simple, but delicious meal. He smiles when I thank him and take his leave,
After a hectic day tour of Brussels I reach Paris rather late. And there too the “Nasir formula” works wonders. Mr Jar nail Singh drives down to the railway station in his durtapyjama later I learn that he had just come back from work. I feel embarrassed, He puts me at ease and pro vides me warm hospitality for two night. His wife prepares delicious dishes for me.
In South of France, Austria and West Germany I have friends to stay with. But a stranger need not worry as the telephone directories in different cities there too have the*magic” name and you just have to ring up a Singh!.
