Amsterdam in Holland was my next stop. An unconventional but delightful city ‘which attracts a large number of tourists. Perhaps that explained why I failed to get a reasonably priced accommodation. Even the Youth Hostels were full, and I could not gather enough courage to stay in the cheap places available in the seedy parts of the city.
In the evening I had almost made up my mind to sleep it out in the Eurorail, enroute to the next destination. But there was 2 dramatic change in my program when I ‘again tried out the “Nasir formula.” The unknown Singh on the other end of the telephone line was all help. “work in a factory and have a small two room flat,” he said. “You are welcome but you may not be comfortable as my wife and children are there.”
