WASHINGTON, D.C: The Sikh community of the world has practically taken a vow to express their anguish and anger against the butcher of Sikhs, Rajiv Gandhi, where ever he had gone during his recent visit of Canada and U.S.A. Rajiv Gandhi had been identified as the man responsible for the holocaust during Dec. 84 in New Delhi and other parts of the country and the murderer of Sikh youths in fake encounters. Everywhere, Rajiv had to face the fist waving Sikhs mounted vocal but nonviolent demonstration chanting slogans like “Death To Hindu Dog, Rajiv Gandhi” and “Long Live Khalistan”, This attitude of anger and revenge was the outcome of his visible challenge of liquidation of Sikh religion and a declaration of waging war against Sikhs in Punjab and other parts of the country.
VANCOUVER, B.C., Can:
More than twelve thousand Sikhs wearing Kesri turbans and dupattas thronged the Robson Square to register their anger and bitterness against the butcher of Sikhs and the puppet of the Russians. They raised full throated slogans like “Death To Hindu Dog, “Killer Of Human Rights”, “The Murderer Of Democracy” , “Enemy Of Sikhs” and “Long Live Khalistan”.
The crowd started their march with a prayer (Ardas) which was led by sword weilding priests (Panj Piaras) and marched to Pan Pacific Hotel where the killer of thousands of Sikhs was staying,
At that place of barricades the procession turned into a public meeting, Although the whole programme was nonviolent but their bitterness and anger could be measured through their slogans raising efforts.
The speakers included S. Gian ‘Singh Sandhu, President W.S.O. (Canada), S, Kuldip Singh Sodhi, Bibi Gunjit Kaur Virk, S. Daljit Singh Sandhu, President Khalsa Diwan Society Gurdwara, Dr. Gurcharan Singh, Secretary Federation of Sikh Societies,S. Kuldeep Singh Kobli of Winnipeg, S. Jagdeep Singh Sanghera, the spokesman of the International Sikh ‘Youth Federation, S. Ajaib Singh Bagri, Babbar Khalsa, S. Kewal Singh of Winnipeg, S. Jagtar Singh Sandhu, International Sikh ‘Youth Federation, S. Wazir Singh Khalon (Governing Board), S. Gurbax Singh Baghri and S, Mohinder Singh Gosal, President Federation of Sikh Societies, They all spoke about atrocities being committed by Rajiv Gandhi against the Sikhs. They unanimously declared that nothing less than an independent State of Khalistan will satisfy the Sikh community. The speakers ‘were repeatedly interrupted by lengthy chants of “Death To Gandhi”, and “Long Live Khalistan”.
‘The speakers told the protestors that Rajiv Gandhi was guilty of genocide. They often pointed out to the Kesri flag, hoisted high by ‘one of the Panj Piaras and said that it would soon fly over the new State of Khalistan. The speakers protested against Gandhi being invited to come to take part in the Common Wealth conference. ‘They also told Gandhi that they will always remember every killing, every crime committed by him and will see to it that he pays in the end.
The women continued “Siapa” (the curse) of Rajiv Gandhi till the end of the function.
‘These demonstrations were amply covered by TV. and other ‘news media of the world. OSTON: Although the Sikh population in this part of UGS.A. was not large enough. But still the Sikhs did not allow Mr. Gandhi to go from there without tasting the extreme anger of the community, Rajiv had come to address the students of Harvard University where he presented a ridiculous philosophy that literacy can hamper democracy.
The Boston chapter of the World Sikh Organization staged an effective and angry demonstration to register their protest against the killer of thousands of innocent Sikhs, Rajiv Gandhi. The demonstration was led by Dr. Manohar ‘Singh Grewal, President W.S.O. (USA), S. Amasjit Singh Buttar, Connecticut and S. Jasbir Singh Dhillon, the member of National Executive Council W.S.O. (USA), The demonstrators raised slogans like “Death To The Killer Of Sikh Youths”, “Long Live Khalistan”, etc. for about two hours. The demonstrators were carrying the Targemotos, pictures depicting torture to Sikh youths, and June and Dec, 1984 holocausts. Some literature was also distributed to the ‘American citizens. The demonstrators attracted lot of sympathy from the local people, Dr. Manobar Singh Grewal, and Amarjit Singh Buttar addressed the demonstrators and other people who had gathered there with the attraction of Kesri turbans, Dupattas and Kesri flags. At the end there was candle light vigil.
NEW YORK, N.Y.: A huge protest meeting organized by World Sikh Organization with the full cooperation of other Sikh ‘Organizations outside the U.N.O. headquarters, New York, registered their bitter opposition to techniques and tactics of Rajiv Gandi which he had adopted to eliminate the Sikh community in India and described him as “Butcher Of Sikhs” killer of human rights and murderer of thousands of innocent fake encounters. This fist waving slogan shouting protest meeting was held when the butcher Indian Prime Minister arrived at the U.N.O. headquarters to address the members of this world organization.
There were about 1,500 people wearing Kesri turbans and Kesri dupattas, shouting full throated slogans and making the world ‘community to know the real picture of holocaust and genocide of Sikhs in India, Outside U.N.O. headquarters, they were allow a demonstration of only 50 people. However at the 47th street at Dag Hamers Plaza the meeting was attended by more than 1,500 men and women. This meeting was also attended by some Afghans and Pakistan people who showed solidarity with the cause of the Sikh community. From here the protesters marched toward Historia Hotel where Rajiy was having lunch which was interrupted with slogans of “Murderer Rajiv Go Back”.
Although every Sikh organization had joined hands to make this angry demonstration a grand success and everybody was equally keen to show solidarity and unity of Sikhs in registering thei protest against the killer of Sikhs, but still the most of the credit for the great success of this demonstration went to Sikh Cultural Society
which not only provided major share of the expenses but also arranged protest moto sign boards, pictures, big baloons, showing various demands of Sikhs and other material used by the precisionists. The Sikh youth of New York showed their mark in organization ‘and the management of the procession and protest meeting.
WASHINGTON, D.C:
The Sikhs demonstrated in front of White House in Washington on October 20, when the murderer of innocent Sikhs, the killer of human rights and puppet of Russia, Rajiv Gandhi came to the White House for talks and lunch with Ronald Reagan.
About’500 demonstrated which also included some Afghans, Pakistanis and Dalits, to show their solidarity with the Sikh cause, started their march from Lafayette Park after prayer (Ardas). The slogan shouting precisionist’s wearing Kesri turbans and dupattas were carrying huge motos, banners, and photos of the martyrs, They were also displaying some photographs showing death of some young men in fake encounters and torture.
The protest was organized by W.S.O,, 18.0, S.A.A. and Guru Nanak Foundation and was led by S. Didar Singh Bains. President WS.O, (International), S. Gurmeet Singh Aulakh, President I$.0, and Coucil of Khalistan, S. Hardam Singh Azad, President S.A.A. These leaders also address ed the gathering, Leaders of Afghan, Pakistan and Dalits also spoke at the meeting. They assured that they will continue the cooperation until oppression against all minorities is stopped. The demonstrators demanded that the butcher of Sikhs should not have been. invited to the White House and called upon U.S.A. to stop every type of aid to India.
Later, the processionists marched to Pennsylvania Avenue and ended their protest at the Capital Hills.
The Sikhs from Washington, ‘Chicago, Virginia, New York, California, Boston and some other places also participated.
