NEW DELHI, India: Pakistan’s acquisition of nuclear capability and the prospects of that country to make a nuclear bomb in the near future were among the subjects discussed by the Indian and Soviet side in their review of regional’ stability during C.PS.U,, General Secretary, Gorbachev’s visit to India. According to the Tribune, Rajiv convened India’s concern over the new dangers leading to its security in the wake of Pakistan acquiring nuclear capability. The Indian side has believed to have indicated that the reassessment of the situations, India’s nuclear options may be-come necessary. Soviet side was also concerned over the growing development in Pakistan — U.S. military axis. It’s understood to have understanding and compulsions in this regard. Soviet Union an Ardent Champion of Nuclear treaty has been articulating its concern over Pakistan’s quest for new nuclear capability, ever since it was known that Islamabad was being helped by both Washington and Peking in building its nuclear facility.
