Sir,
In the Sikh holocaust of November 1984 in Delhi and several other towns of India, not only were thousands of Sikhs killed but their religious symbols and sacred Guru Granth Shib was also desecrated and burnt in several gurdwaras. The long hair and beards of Sikhs were pulled out or cut, they were paraded in the streets and then burnt. How the Guru Granth Sahib and Sikh symbols were held in high esteem by the Hindus in the past is evident from the “Life of Sant Attaer Singh Ji of Mastwane (Sangrur dist) written by Sant Tejh Singh M.A., A.M.(Harvard). It is indeed a sad commentary on the actions of the present day leadership for the Hindu community to Malign Sikhs as terrorist and thus widen the gulf between the two who have lived in harmony for centuries. The situation is now so far gone that Ray has had to kill hundreds of innocent Sikhs in fake encounters. The only way peace and tranquility can return is by the evacuation of occupation forces from Khalistan and territorial readjustment to ensure peaceful coexistence of two sovereign nations.
