CERES: Mr. Gary Condit has been elected to the U.S. Congress from Ceres.
The Democrat defeated Republican Berryhill.
Mr. Condit confronts the transition from being a fourth term member of the 80 member Assembly to being a freshman in the 435 member House of Representatives. How he fares will affect what he can do for his San Joaquin Valley district.
Mr. Condit who succeeds Mr. Tony Coelho thanked Sikhs for their support to win the election. He said Mr. Coelho had told him of the aspirations of Sikhs and he would continue supporting them.
