GURDASPUR: Talking to newsmen at Dhariwal Bhai Manjit Singh, President AISSF reiterated that their ultimate aim was the attainment of “Khalistan” This goal was set up by Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and Bhai Amrik Singh. The Federation wants to achieve this end through democratic means. He felt that the police excesses were compelling other means. The AISSF President said that Sikhs were facing crisis of identity. A feeling of alienation was fast growing among them and they were leading a life of slaves in India. The Federation he said, was committed to “free” them from the shackles of slavery.
Regarding unity with various Akali factions, Bhai Majit Singh said that barring Sujit Singh Barnala and Balwant Singh all those who follow the path set by Bhindranwale were welcome to join them. Akali leadership as such was outdated in the present context. He held Akalis responsible for the ruin of Sikh youth. For the lust of power they sided with the Central government to “eliminate” Sikh youth by allowing “fake encounters” during Akali regime and were a party to eliminate Sikh youth.
