NEW DELHI: The Unified Akali Dal chief Simranjit Singh Mann alleged in the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate A.M. Malik was severely tortured at various stages during a detention of 4% years.

Deposing before a magistrate in Tihar Jail courtroom for about 10 minutes Mann who is standing trial in connection with the assassination of Indira Gandhi and were brought fro Bhagalpur Central Jail urged the court that his teeth should be examined by a dental surgeon at the All India Institute of Medical sciences as his central line has become out of shape by torture by investigators. Mann showed his teeth and told the magistrate that hairs were pulled out during integration.

Alleging that he was being tortured and the charge of sedition and conspiracy to kill Indira Gandhi was a frame up Mann said that he has been writing to the Government as a civil servant according to dictates of his conscious.

The former IPS officer said that he was not an extremist and have open mindedness on the happening in Punjab. He told the court that he was not allowed to meet his lawyers before being produced in a court in connection with the Indira murder case.

He was being kept in a dark cell without electrification and urged the magistrate to visit the cell. Mannclaimed that on the political front he has gained so much sympathy that he could win an election from anywhere even in Bihar.
