AHMEDABAD: The world Sindhi Congress (WSC) had demanded that separate constituencies should be reserved for Sindhis where they live in sizable population in the country for contesting Parliamentary and Assembly elections.

A resolution demanding this was adopted at a meeting of the managing committee of the WSC held here on Sunday. The resolution was proposed by Harpal panjabi and seconded by Harish Dubey both secretary general of the WSC.

It was pointed out in the resolution that since Sindhis were scattered all over India, they could

not get their representatives elected under the present political set up. It also demanded that Sindhis should be declared as a special linguistic minority by amending the Indian constitution. Hence, Kutch should be developed as a Sindhi linguistic state because 95 percent of the people there speak Sindhi.
