The Sikhs throughout the world will be celebrating the martyrdom of their fifth Guru (Master), Sri Arjan Dev Ji, on 4th June, 1989. This day has very special significance in Sikh history; (i) Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji accepted the torture and persecution of the then Emperor of India without uttering a word against the judgment of the ruler and consequently sacrificed his life for the principles he believed in (Ter Bhana Meetha Lage, Nam Padarath Nanak Mange, ie O’Lord thy will is dear to me, all I ask is thy blessings); (ii) on this fateful day of 4th June, 1984, the then Queen of Indian democracy, Indira Gandhi, also known as India’s Hitler No. 1 (Dilgeer 1989, World Sikh News, 10th March), launched an all out undeclared war on the Golden Temple Complex, the Akal Takhat Sahib (the Seat of Sikh Polity) and 39 other gurdwaras (Houses of God) of the Sikh Nation, Punjab. Indira Gandhi, in her last battle, deployed highly powerful combat units of Indian infantry, artillery, armored corps, naval and air forces, aided by the cream of military and civil‘ intelligence personnel trained in USS.S.R., and supplemented with Soviet security advisors. Asa result, more than 50,00 innocent children youth and elderly were butchered ruthlessly and indiscriminately, including saintsoldiers Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, Bhai Shabeg Singh and Bhai Amrik Singh. Although the rehearsal of Operation Bluestar took place with full preparations and secrecy in the mountainous town of Chakrata, U.P. State, Indian armed forces own casualties were more than 9,950 (Sekhon, A.S. 198788 Sword 3: 3641) According to Indira Gandhi, Operation Bluestar was carried out to flush out a handful of antinationals; her (evil) Indian Empire had no case of any against Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale or his followers. The evil empire did so to eradicate, humiliate and destruct the Sikh nation. Several months later, in November 1984 mass mobs went on rampages, with the blessings of Indira Gandhi’s son, Rajiv, and his cabinet colleagues, to assassinate more than 30,000 Sikhs in Delhi and nearby vicinities. Surely, at this time Rajiv Gandhi earned the title of India’s Hitler No. 2 (Dilger 1989). It was none other than but Rajiv Gandhi who said, “let us teach these bastards, the Sikhs, a lesson.”
On the fourth anniversary of the undeclared war on the Golden Temple Complex and on the Sikh Nation, the agents of Indian security forces started demolishing historical and other buildings around (100 metre radius) the Golden Temple complex, in the name of beautification and prevention of the complex from becoming a fortress (The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, 7th June, 1988. World at Eight). This was the cover up or smoke screen of the evil empire for the propaganda and misinformation through government controlled news media. In fact, this was another example of the demonstration of power against the innocent and brave Sikhs of Punjab
The so-called preventive measures, taken in the name of beautification of the Golden Temple complex added salt to the wounded Sikh psyche and was clearly directed towards humiliation of the Sikh Nation. The Government of India must come out openly and publicly to say that the Sikhs in particular and other nonHindu minorities have no place in the Hindu Indian empire. The fourth anniversary also witnessed the desecration of the golden Temple Complex when the Indian Army troops carried out their Operations Black Thunder I & II in May, cleverly using the teams of Indian television (Doordarshan) in the presence of veteran journalists like Mark Tully of U.K. Even the design of the evil empire succeeded in making a fool of the retired army general Jagjit Singh Arora, who thanked Rajiv Gandhi for the execution of Black Thunder I & IL. Also, during 1988, the Government of India hatched and executed successfully « plan of the man made floods in Punjab to paralyze the Sikhs.
Now on the fifth anniversary of the Indian attack on the Sikh nation is approaching. It has already witnessed that there are different (black) laws and “kangaroo courts” for the prosecution and persecution of the Sikhs. The most recent example being the executions of S. Satwant Singh and S. Kehar Singh on 6th January. 1989. Despite court orders, the Government of India refused to hand over the dead bodies of S. Satwant Singh and S. Kehar Singh to the Sikhs or their next of kin. In addition the law enforcement agencies of this evil empire killed the Sikh academics of the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, in “fake encounters,” like Dr. Gumam Singh Buttar and Dr. Rajinder Pal Singh Gill.
The world knows that this evil empire has no respect for human rights as documented clearly in a recent report of Amnesty International “India, Human Rights Violations” (1988) and stories as told by Mr. Balkar Singh and Mr. Daljit Singh, two Canadians who spent months in Indian jails without trial (The Globe and Mail, 27th October & 1st November, 1989). State Terrorism in Punjab Preface by Ravinair and David Bergman, January 1989.
The peace and justice loving people of the world are aware that the evil empire spent US $20 millions and 50 millions of taxpayers monies for carrying out anti Sikh propaganda in 1984 and 1988, respectively (Dilger 1989). Because of India’s denials and violations of basic human rights to the Sikhs. It left no option to justice loving congressmen of the United States to introduce a bill H.R. 1067 in the 1st session of the 101st Congress, in the House of Representatives on 22nd February, 1989, to deny (most favored nation) trade treatment to the products of India. Indian intelligence notoriously fabricated the assassination plot of Madam Benazir Bhutto, Prime Minister of Pakistan and blamed it on Sikhs (Dr. Aulakh, press release, 1989). More recently, the big bully India, the evil Hindu Indian Empire is busy in blackmailing the tiny neighboring nation of Nepal (The Globe and Mail, April 1989), via the formation of land blockades for essential commodities.
To highlight a few more ambitious plans of India, it is busy in enlarging and engaged in the production of long range missile (s) (Time, 3rd April 1989 & Globe and Mail, 4th April, 1989). Additionally, it has waged three wars on Pakistan (1947, 1965 & 1971) one on China (1962) and swallowed Bhutan and Sikkim (the two tiny kingdoms). India is spending at least 12 to 14 billion dollars on defense for 1989. This defense spending is excessive considering that it resulted in the importation of wheat in 1987 and 1988. So where did the era of the so called green revolution and self sufficiency go? Obviously, no nation can produce food grains under the fear of guns, prosecutions, persecutions and fake encounters (see above). Innocent Indian masses suffer from hunger and malnutrition. Whether the exporters of arms, military hardware and economic aid will take notice of the current situation of India, only time will tell. However it is obvious that the Hindu India’s administration in New Delhi will continue its policy of prosecution, persecution and humiliation, of the Sikh Nation. It has been reported recently that the Indian military advisors are playing an active role in Afghanistan after Soviet withdrawal, against freedom loving Mujhahideens.
In the context of the global political situation in South Asia where India is not only expanding its military might beyond its means and pressuring Sri Lanka and Nepal (see above) annexing Sikim and Bhutan, aiding Tamil guerrillas in Sri Lanka, posing the largest ever threat to its neighbors and destabilizing the region, it will be in the best interests of the Western democracies, particularly the US., U.K., Canada, etc to reassess their foreign policies and economic package programmes for South Asia. History is a prime indicator that Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the Sikh Nation will prove to be the best friends of democratic and peace loving countries of the world in the times ahead. George Campbell of the U.K. commented in 1893 that the Sikhs have more common with the British people than any other race of India. From the Sikhs perspective this community sees no future under the Hindu rule, especially following the events of June and November 1984, and that has ensued since April, 1978,
Ahmed Shah Abdali of Afghanistan tried to wipe the Sikhs out, and so did the Moghal Emperor Aurangzeb, yet both failed. Indira Gandhi (India’s Hitler No. 1) tried to do so, but did not succeed. Now the evil empire with its Emperor Rajiv Gandhi (India’s Hitler No. 2) is on his mother’s footsteps. It remains to be seen to what extent this Hindu Indian empire will go. Indira Gandhi drove the first nail in the coffin, in June 1984, and every further evil action of Rajiv Gandhi’s empire drives an additional nail in the very coffin of the socalled democratic Republic of India. Only time will tell who succeeds.
Sri Akal Sahai (The almighty be helpful)!
