It is time that the Sikh Nation awakened to its destiny, for nations are created by those people who respond to the need of the hour. The need of the hour for us is not to forget the events of the past two years but to rise as one body and take charge of our destiny, to remove the discredited leadership which has once again brought shame upon us as a Nation. When the principles and values of a Nation are compromised by its leaders for the sake of momentary peace or personal satisfaction the Nation as a whole pays. England had its Neville Chamberlain who brought back an accord to the British from Hitler as Longowal were to bring to the Sikhs from Rajiv. Hitler used his accord to buy time for his evil designs, Rajiv and his Government is no different in their intentions.

‘What we have witnessed in the failure of handing over Chandigarh to Punjab as per the agreement is only a small portion of what is in store for us from the cunning Congress. What then should be our role, how then should we react? Should we go on being submissive and awaiting justice from the devil? Should we let our brothers keep rotting in jails and take comfort that the hangman will show mercy? Or should we keep sacrificing our principles and the fruits of our labor and keep p leasing the enemy for we enjoy being called moderates? How long, and how much more are we going to sacrifice? When are we going t0 say enough is enough?

We often hear talk of our mistakes of 1947, the loss of fortunes, loss of lives and properties. We talk of our leaders selling out, coming under the influence of the Congress that never materialized, but then we find peach in the thoughts, well, they were naive, they were not sharp enough to understand the subtleties of modem politics so we paid, But what excuses are we going to give to our coming generations, that we learnt nothing from our previous mistakes, or that we were too afraid to speak out, or that it seemed not the right thing to do at that time.

Is it not our duty to build a Nation for our children where they can live in peace as masters of their own destiny? Are we not obligated to give them the security to build a better place for them and to dream bigger dreams? Are we not normally bound to secure for them the freedom of democracy and all the bounties that are the birth right of all free men freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to be different? I think if we look into our hearts and souls our path is quite clear as that of a free Nation under God.

The time then has come for the ‘Sikh Nation not to take a passive role, for in it we will be given signals to the hour that has yet to show its true face. Itis time for us to make our intentions clear of our ‘own Nation under God, to that because we will appease nothing. Itis time we sent a clear signal for the Congress government ‘that there are no hardline Sikhs and that there are no moderates, but just Sikhs and we shall no more compromise our conscience.

Let us declare our intentions and obtain the courage to hold true to our cause, for courage is the first of all human qualities, it is the quality from which flow rest of human accomplishments. Let Barnala’s of the World strike a deal with the devil, The Sikhs have been blessed by the Lord, they have a rendezvous with destiny, that of a new Nation under God… “Khalistan.”
